Malaysia joined fellow ASEAN Member States for a working luncheon with Dr. Robert Floyd, Executive Secretary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, on 9 April 2026, hosted by the Permanent Mission of Thailand.
The luncheon provided a platform for ASEAN Member States and the CTBTO to engage in constructive discussions on issues relating to the universalization of the CTBT, preparations for the upcoming 2026 Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), as well as the programme and budgetary priorities of the CTBTO. Discussions also centred on the recent developments in the Middle East and their broader implications for regional as well as international peace and security.
