‘BIZNEXT - AN EXPEDITION OF INNOVATION’ EVENT ORGANISED BY ROBI AXIATA

H.E. Haznah Md Hashim, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh delivered her remarks at the ‘Biznext - an expedition of innovation’ event organised by Robi Axiata on 19 June 2022. Robi Axiata Limited is the largest Malaysian investor among all Malaysian businesses in Bangladesh, and the event was to celebrate its embarkment on a new journey to bring transformational solutions to accelerate business growth.

Among others, H.E. High Commissioner stated the following:

"I would like to take this very opportunity to assure the business community in Bangladesh that the Malaysian Government stands squarely behind Robi Axiata’s initiative and is eager as ever to facilitate greater collaboration with Malaysian technology entities, through Robi Axiata, to ensure a smooth transition of Bangladesh into a digital economy.

Having stated that, I wish to emphasise that the investment by Malaysian Government through its Government Linked Companies, such as Axiata Group Berhad, and its subsidiaries, is based on trust and solid foundation of bilateral relations with Bangladesh – since Malaysia was among the first nation to recognise the sovereignty of Bangladesh in 1971. My sincere appreciation definitely goes to Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Honourable Minister Mustafa Jabbar and the whole Government of Bangladesh for all the assistance extended thus far.

My Government will therefore has full faith in the Government of Bangladesh that the Government of Bangladesh will continue to extend all the necessary assistance and facilitation to Malaysian investors here, particularly the subsidiaries of our Government Linked Companies, for the sake of the sustainability of Malaysian investment in Bangladesh."
