52nd National Day of Malaysia Reception - Dhaka, Bangladesh, 11 October 2009

The High Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka hosted the 52^nd National Day Reception on 11 October 2009 at the Radisson Water Garden Hotel Dhaka. The event was graced by H.E. Shahjahan Miah, State Minister of Religious Affairs, Bangladesh and attended by more than 500 people consisting of Ministers, diplomats, government/army officials, academia, corporate leaders, MTCP Alumni and approx. 80 Malaysians residing/working in Bangladesh.

In conjunction with the celebration of the National Day, H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh, High Commissioner of Malaysia also launched the week-long “Malaysian Food & Cultural Festival and Showcase Malaysia 2009” from 12 to 18 October 2009 organized in collaboration with Kelab Malaysia Bangladesh (KMB), Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) and Radisson Water Garden Hotel Dhaka.

Invitees to the National Day Reception were entertained by special traditional dance performance with the theme ‘1Malaysia’ by Six (6) dancers from Pak Ngah Production, Batek painting demonstration and fashion show by Noor Arfa Batek and enjoyed sumptuous Malaysian cuisine prepared by two (2) renowned Chefs. All were specially flown in from Kuala Lumpur to Dhaka for the National Day events.
