DHAKA- The ASEAN Dhaka Committee Joint Reception was held successfully among the eight member countries of ASEAN Resident Missions in Dhaka on 2 April 2014. The Reception was organized in conjunction with the establishment of ASEAN Committee in the Third Country on 12 September 2013. The ASEAN Dhaka Committee will serve as a platform to highlight and promote the interests and issues of ASEAN countries as a whole. Malaysia has been elected as the first ADC Chairman while Myanmar as Vice Chairman of the Committee. Among others invited to grace the momentous event was the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Foreign Heads of Mission in Dhaka, Senior Officials from the Bangladesh Foreign Ministry and the Prime Minister’s Office, Bangladesh Parliament, Central Bank of Bangladesh, Board of Investment, local businessmen and representatives from the local electronic and printed media.
