Courtesy Call on Professor Muhammad Yunos, Founder of Grameen Bank In year 2006, Professor Yunos and Grameen Bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to create economic and social development from below. He was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom (America’s Highest Civilian Honour) by President Barack Obama in August this year. The High Commissioner also congratulated Professor Yunos for his recent appointment by the Honourable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak, appointing him as a member of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) International Advisory Panel for 2 years. The Panel members are to provide counsel to the Malaysian Government on matters related to innovation and the economy. Both also took the opportunity to discuss a wide range of national, bilateral and regional issues particularly for women and needy citizen in education, general and specialized healthcare services, opportunity and prospects in nursing as a profession, employment & job placement services, etc.
