INFORMATION FOR TRAVELLERS ENTERING MALAYSIA

MYSEJAHTERA
MySejahtera is a digital system implemented by the Malaysian Government to facilitate contact tracing efforts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. It also serves as a vaccine passport. The application (https://mysejahtera.malaysia.gov.my) can be downloaded from Apple App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery.
DIGITAL PRE-DEPARTURE FORM
All travellers arriving by air or sea into Malaysia are required to complete the Digital Pre-Departure Form (DPDF). The DPDF can be found under the ‘Traveller’ icon on the MySejahtera application. The DPDF requests details that are considered critical health information. Travellers must have the DPDF completed before check-in to be allowed to board their flight. Fully vaccinated travellers will be issued with a Digital Traveller Card upon submission of the DPDF. Partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers will be issued with a Digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO) for 5 days. These travellers will be required to quarantine for 5 days upon arrival.
COVID-19 TRAVEL INSURANCE
All short-term foreign visitors are required to have COVID-19 travel insurance for their COVID-19-related medical treatment and hospitalisation costs in Malaysia, with a minimum coverage of US$20,000. This applies to all short-term foreign visitors regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination or recovery status.
The insurance should be purchased prior to travelling to Malaysia, either from Malaysia-based or overseas insurers.
The mandatory insurance does not apply to travellers from the following categories:
- Malaysian
- Long-Term Social Pass
- Expatriates Pass
- Student Pass
- Study Pass
- Resident Pass
- Permanent Resident Pass
- Spouses of Malaysian citizens
- Foreign workers including foreign helpers
- MM2H
DEFINITION OF VACCINATION STATUS
All fully vaccinated travellers are exempted from quarantine. For travellers with COVID-19 digital vaccination certificates issued overseas, please verify your digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate through MySejahtera before departure.
DEFINITION OF “FULLY VACCINATED” IN MALAYSIA AS OF 1 APRIL 2022
18 years old and above who are fully vaccinated with two doses of the Sinovac/Sinopharm vaccine and 60 years old and above who are fully vaccinated with any type of COVID-19 vaccines are required to get a third dose of vaccine (booster) to keep their fully vaccinated status. This applies to all citizens and non-citizens.

Malaysia will also accept COVID-19 vaccines that are not listed under the World Health Organisation’s Emergency Use Listing but are approved by regulatory agencies in other countries.
PRE-DEPARTURE AND ON-ARRIVAL TESTING
All travellers aged 7 years old and above must provide a negative RT-PCR COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours prior to departure.
Children aged 6 years old and below (by year of birth) at the time of check-in for the scheduled flight departure are exempted from pre-departure testing.
If you have a positive or inconclusive test result, please postpone your travel and do not go to the airport. You will not be allowed to check in or board on your flight, and please seek advice from your local health authority.
ON-ARRIVAL TESTING
All travellers aged 7 years old and above must undertake a supervised COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RTK-Ag) at any private health facility upon arrival at the airport. This must not be confused with a COVID-19 self-administered RTK-Ag test.
Travellers who failed to undertake the on-arrival test within 24 hours of arrival will be issued with a Digital Home Surveillance Order (HSO) until the test is taken.
If tested positive, please refer to the COVID-19 case management protocol.
The cost of on-arrival testing will be borne by the traveller.
On-Arrival Testing Exemption
Children aged 6 years old and below (by year of birth) at the time of check-in for the scheduled flight departure are exempted from on-arrival testing.
