DHAKA- High Commission of Malaysia organized a get-together for the Malaysian community residing in Bangladesh on 1 June 2013 in conjunction with the Malaysia King’s Birthday which is celebrated on the first Saturday of June every year. The event was held at the High Commissioner’s Official Residence with more than 60 Malaysians, comprising the staffs of the High Commission, professionals and their families as well as Malaysian students residing in Bangladesh attended the event.
The event began with the singing of the national anthem of Malaysia- “Negaraku”, short remarks by H.E. Madam Norlin Othman to the fellow Malaysians followed by a cake cutting ceremony. In her remarks, H.E. High Commissioner took the opportunity to apprise the Malaysian community on the current development in Bangladesh and advised them to maintain close communication with the High Commission’s Officials during their stay in Bangladesh. Guests were later served with a variety of Malaysian cuisines such as nasi lemak, chicken satay with peanut gravy, fried noodles and traditional Malaysian desserts.
