MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT CONTRIBUTED TAKA 70 LAC (USD 95,777.00) TO BANGLADESH'S CENTRE FOR RURAL DEVELOPMENT(CIRDAP)
DHAKA - The Government of Malaysia contributed Bangladeshi TAKA 70 Lac (USD 95,777.00) to the Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) in Bangladesh to support and enhance integrated rural development and poverty alleviation initiatives in the Asia and the Pacific region.
2. H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh, High Commissioner of Malaysia for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, on behalf of the Government of Malaysia, handed over the cheque to Dr. Durga P. Paudyal, Director General of CIRDAP at the High Commission of Malaysia on 6 December 2010.
3. CIRDAP, a regional, inter-governmental and autonomous organization based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, was established on 6 July 1979 at the initiative of countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). CIRDAP is now a Centre of 14 member-countries namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh (Host State), India, Indonesia, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.
