Mercy Malaysia’s 5th Cleft Lip and Palate Programme in Bangladesh
DHAKA - H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh, High Commissioner inaugurated the 5th Cleft Lip and Palate Programme by Mercy Malaysia in collaboration with Dhaka Community Hospital in Dhaka city from 23 – 28 April 2011.
Also present during the inauguration ceremony were Professor Quazi Quamruzzaman, Chairman of Dhaka Community Hospital Trust; Professor Ahmad Sukari from University of Science, Malaysia; Miss Wendy Neoh, Senior Programme Officer from MERCY Malaysia; and all medical volunteers from Malaysia.
With the completion of the 5th Mission of the Cleft Lip and Palate Project since the first one in 2008, this project has benefited a total of 269 children and adults in Bangladesh with corrective surgery works successfully completed.
H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh also hosted a dinner for the medical volunteers from Malaysia at the High Commissioner’s Residence in Gulshan, Dhaka on 27 April 2011.
