The first ever single country exhibition in Bangladesh, 'Robi Expo Malaysia 2012' was officiated by His Excellency Dato' Jamaluddin Sabeh, High Commissioner of Malaysia for the People's Republic of Bangladesh on 24 May 2012 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka. Other VIP Guests at the Opening Ceremony were H.E. Dilip Barua, Honourable Minister of Industries of Bangladesh; Mr. Zulkifly Md. Said, Director of International Marketing Division, Tourism Malaysia; Mr. Mahtabuddin Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer of Robi Axiata Limited as the Title Sponsor and Mr. Kazi Wahidul Alam, Chairman and Managing Director of Triune Exhibition and Event Management Services of Bangladesh.
The High Commission of Malaysia in Dhaka in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Airlines and Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) organised the 'Robi Expo Malaysia 2012' held from 24 to 26 May 2012 with the main objectives of exhibiting and introducing Malaysian quality products and services to Bangladesh and to attract possible collaborations and partnerships between Malaysia and Bangladesh.
37 companies participated in the Expo, offering various Malaysian products and services ranging from telecommunication, healthcare travel, tourism, finance, education and property development.
