Visit to Westmont Power (Bangladesh) Ltd.

DHAKA – H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh, the High Commissioner undertook a visit to Westmont Power Plant in Baghabari (approximately 180 km from Dhaka city) at the invitation of Mr. Paisal Arifuddin, Executive Director (ED) of the Malaysian-owned Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Bangladesh.

The gas-fired barge-mounted power plant with a maximum capability of 130 MW was officially launched in 1999.

H.E. the High Commissioner who was accompanied by his wife, Madam Norsiah and officials of the High Commission were also hosted to a barbeque dinner after a half-day tour of the barge and cruise on a boat around the Baghabari village
