WORKING VISIT OF H.E. DATO’ SRI LIOW TIONG LAI, MINISTER OF HEALTH, MALAYSIA; AND H.E. DATUK SERI HAJI AHMAD SAID, CHIEF MINISTER OF TERENGGANU STATE, MALAYSIA TO BANGLADESH

DHAKA – H.E. Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister of Health, Malaysia; and H.E. Datuk Seri Haji Ahmad Said, Chief Minister of Terengganu and their respective delegation undertook a working visit to Bangladesh from 3 to 4 March 2011 to promote Malaysian healthcare and to attract investments in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector in Malaysia.

 

A “Malaysia Healthcare Seminar and Exhibition (MHSE) 2011” were also held at the Dhaka Sheraton Hotel in conjunction with the visit. The event was participated by more than fifteen (15) Malaysian medical centre/hospitals and healthcare industry players from Malaysia. Both Ministers and their delegation accompanied by H.E. Jamaluddin Sabeh, High Commissioner of Malaysia for Bangladesh also made a courtesy call on H.E. Professor A.F.M. Ruhal Haque, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Bangladesh.

 

They also took the opportunity to visit a medical university in Dhaka and a pharmaceutical factory in Tongi, Gazipur. Accompanying the Ministers are senior officials from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia; Malaysian Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) and Terengganu State Government.
