62nd National Day and 45th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations Between Malaysia and Bahrain Reception

On Monday 16 September 2019, the Embassy of Malaysia in the Kingdom of Bahrain hosted a reception to commemorate the 62nd National Day of Malaysia and the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom of Bahrain. The reception took place at The Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel, Manama. The event was attended by close to 200 government officials, diplomats and the business community.

                The event started with the national anthems of Malaysia and Bahrain, followed by a video presentation on tourism and trade in Malaysia and speech by His Excellency Agus Salim bin Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia to Bahrain. In his speech, Ambassador Agus Salim hailed the excellent relations shared between both countries and highlighted the major achievements for the past 45 years. Besides that, he also stated that 78 recipients from Bahrain had successfully completed training courses under the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme (MTCP) since its inception in 1983. The Ambassador further expressed his appreciation to the three (3) co-sponsors for the event, namely the Royal Bahrain Hospital, National Motor Company and Strong Force-MGC.

 

                During the event, the Embassy of Malaysia honoured the Arab Traveller’s Magazine, for the magazine’s continuous effort in promoting Malaysian tourism in the region since 1980s.  A cake cutting ceremony then followed on stage. Dinner was then served which include Malaysian local cuisine enjoyed by the guests.
