Al Buainain praises the pioneering role of the Saudi diplomacy worldwide.
Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Ghanim Fadhl Al- Buainin praised the pioneering role of the Saudi diplomacy, describing it as a successful model of the GCC joint political and diplomatic work regarding various regional and international issues. He received yesterday the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain Dr. Abdulmohsin bin Fahd Al-Mark. Both sides discussed strong bilateral brotherly relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.

Bahrain in key moves to protect site workers.
Ministry of Housing announced yesterday about its important new moves to protect the safety of building site workers in Bahrain, with the signing of an agreement to ensure that international safety standards are strictly adhered to on all projects. Also this will be extending to the safety of residents, once housing units have been allocated according to the Ministry. The agreement was signed along with the National Consultative Centre for Vocational Health and Safety Services, to examine vocational health and safety standards and work to develop them.

A water bottling plant shut for violating public health regulations.
Ministry of Health officials stated yesterday that a water bottling plant was shut down recently for violating public health regulations in Bahrain. Health and Industry and Commerce Ministries however refused to disclose which plant had been closed or the brand of water affected. The Health Ministry said that its food control section had carried out inspections and laboratory tests on bottled water plants to ensure products in the market were clear of contamination. On the other hand, the health Ministry has also stated saying that after the microscopic tests on the sample the labs concluded that the contamination was non-bacterial and consumers had nothing to fear.
Special sickle cell facility sought in Bahrain.
Bahrain MPs have renewed calls for a fully operational 24-hour facility to treat sickle cell patients, following the death of seven patients in less than two weeks. Campaigners have blamed authorities for ignoring patients and providing inefficient treatment. The MPs said that the patients can only seek treatment at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC). Health Ministry officials earlier accused sickle cell patients of causing chaos at Ibrahim Khalil Kanoo Community Centre, saying they had been caught trafficking drugs and sleeping pills, indulging in inappropriate behavior with women and injecting themselves with illegally procured painkillers. However, MPs say having a negative attitude towards these patients will not solve the sickle cell crisis the country is currently going through.
