HM returns from France and a committee to follow up the outcomes of His visit set up.
HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa has last night returned home from France following an official visit during which he held talks with President Francois Hollande on strengthening historic bilateral relations bonding the two countries. The two leaders discussed latest regional and international developments. on the same context, Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met his French counterpart Mr. Laurent Fabius to discuss with the outcomes of yesterday’s visit and also to agree on the setting up of a coordination committee to follow up on a memorandum by Bahrain to enhance bilateral cooperation in the political, defence, educational, cultural and technological fields.

Deputy King HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince, visited the Majlis of Khalid Al-Zayani in Riffa and expressed congratulations on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan. HRH urged all parties to join ranks and work sincerely hand in hand for national interests to be achieved, stressing the necessity to renounce violence, division and escalation and build bridges, being the best means to achieve security and stability. HRH called for a Multiparty dialogue that represents the ideal path to promote consensus, and being the safety net for all sides.
Major-General Shaikh Daij meets with the Jordanian Liaison Officer.
Chiefs of Staff of the BDF, Major-General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, met with the outgoing Liaison Officer of the Jordanian Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain Brigadier-General Mustafa Raja Al Miqdad yesterday. Both sides discussed ways of consolidating cooperation between the two Kingdoms in all fields, especially the military one, wishing their others’ countries every success and prosperity. Other issues of mutual concern were also discussed.

GCC to invest $100bn in water sectors.
A report from the Emirate of Abu Dhabi stated that there plans for the GCC governments to earmark more than $100 billion in their water sectors between 2011 and 2016 to improve desalination technologies involving solar energy, and maximize on waste water treatments and recycling. Developers, manufacturers, buyers and service providers from a range of sectors in power and water will meet to discuss current products and technologies in the related industries in an upcoming event in Abu Dhabi. The fifth edition of Power + Water Middle East will take place from October 8 to 10 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

A specialized sickle cell clinic to be opened soon at Salmaniya.
Minister of Health, Mr. Sadiq Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi, revealed to the news yesterday about the opening of a new specialized sickle cell clinic, working round the clock, within days at the Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) Emergency and Accidents Ward. He pointed out that the initiative follows directives issued by HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. Undersecretary of the Health Ministry, Dr. Aisha Bunuq and other senior officials, visited Salmaniya Medical Complex and approved the proposed location for the clinic to be set up soon.
Bahrain awaits all-clear ruling on glanders.
Top officials from the Ministries of Health and Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs announced yesterday that Bahrain will have to wait at least another two months to learn whether it has been given the all-clear from the deadly equine disease glanders. A ban on the movement and exportation of horses has been in place since 2010 and was due to be lifted within the next week. But it can only be removed once consent has been granted from the European Union. A source said although a committee meeting had been scheduled, it was impossible to know if Bahrain would be given the all-clear to lift the ban.
