Some organizations deliberately target Gulf countries and ignore blatant violations of human rights in other countries.
Speaking at the opening of the Arabian Gulf Security “Regional Facts and International Interests Conference,” held at the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq, Interior Minister Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa said that there are some determined human rights groups and media organizations that try to foment unrest across the Gulf and selectively interpret events related to this region. He also said that these organizations deliberately target Gulf countries, which respect rights of its citizens, whilst at the same time ignoring blatant violations of human rights in other countries. He added, such organizations, are part of the desire to promote regime change regardless of results and losses.
Bahrain launches new civil discourse society.
The Bahrain Foundation for Reconciliation and Civil Discourse (BFRCD has been officially launched yesterday founder and chairman of the BFRCD board of trustees, Suhail Ghazi Algosaibi said. The newly launched Foundation aims at helping bridge the sectarian divide in the Kingdom and enjoys the full support of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander. It has been registered by the Ministry of Social Development. Speaking at the event, Mr. Algosaibi told the crowd that the time was right for such an initiative to foster and promote open discussion between all members of society, and added the mission of this society is to promote social cohesion and harmony.

Massive projects mark the Kingdom’s budget.
HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired a work meeting yesterday and revealed details of a two-year roadmap put by the Government for ambitious development plans that would be fulfilled within these two coming years. Topping the 2013-14 budget priorities are the housing, education, health, infrastructure and social development projects. The session discussed projects scheduled to be financed as part of the GCC aid package to Bahrain. In this regard, a high-level delegation representing the Saudi Fund for Development is expected to visit Bahrain soon. HRH at the end of the session asserted that any delay in government-funded projects concerning citizens is totally unacceptable.
Indra Multinational starts Bahrain operations.
Indra Multinational, a leading information technology multinational in Spain, opened its office in Bahrain to support its operations. Indra is one of the main companies in Europe and Latin America. It announced that its purpose of opening its Bahrain’s office is to support the company’s local operations on the one hand, and to expand its future investment undertakings on the other hand through making full advantage of Bahrain position as an attractive investment environment for businesses. Under the patronage of Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Transportation Minister, Indra’s office was inaugurated by Gonzalo de Benito, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs during his visit to Bahrain, in the presence of Ángel Losada, Spain’s ambassador to Kuwait and Bahrain and José Cubelos as well.

BPC launches overseas office in Washington.
The Bahrain Press Club (BPC) launched its first overseas liaison office yesterday in Washington, D.C. at a reception attended by international media, think tanks, government representatives and NGOs. The event was held in the First Amendment Lounge at the National Press Club. The BPC liaison office, housed in the National Press Building, serves as a direct connection to the Bahrain Press Club in Manama, Bahrain. A quasi-government organization in partnership with the Information Affairs Authority, the liaison office provides members with regular updates and accurate news from the Government of Bahrain, as well as access to senior government officials and decision makers.
KFH-B announces 75 winners for May.
