ASEAN Heads of missions in a visit to the National Mariculture Center, Bahrain.

On 30 of May 2012, the ASEAN diplomats in Bahrain made a visit to the National Mariculture Center in Ras Hayyan to learn about the Bahraini experience in hatchery and be updated of the latest advancements in the protection field. National Mariculture Center’s Director Abdulredha Shams and Bahrain’s Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife director-general Jassim Al-Qassir accompanied the ASEAN diplomats. The Counsellor and Charge de Affairs of the Malaysian mission here in Bahrain, Mr. Mohd Shahafeez Shaharis, represented the H.E. Ambassdor Ahmad Shahizan Abd Samad.

In summary, the ASEAN visit to the National Mariculture Center was both beneficial and enjoyable, in which the delegation was comprehensively briefed about the setting and environment of the aquaculture. It is hoped that the visit would pave the way for a stronger cooperation between the ASEAN and Bahrain and other GCC countries.
