The Embassy of Malaysia led by H.E. Ambassador Zakri Jaafar attended the 23rdCommemoration of genocide victims held on 11 July in Potocari, Srebrenica, a three-hour drive from Sarajevo city.
The event is held annually to honour the death of Bosnians killed in genocide in July 1995. On the day, this year, 35 identified remains of the victims were given a proper burial. Thus far, there are more than 6,000 remains that have been buried at Potocari memorial cemetery. Traditionally the commemoration was attended by family members of the victims, foreign diplomats, religious leaders, officials and dignitaries of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well NGOs from within and outside Bosnia and Herzegovina.
