On 13th March, His Excellency Ambassador Zakri Jaafar was invited to participate in the launching of the Sarajevo Afforestation’ project in Ablakovina, 7 km. from the city centre of Sarajevo. The Sarajevo Afforestation project is coordinated by Islamic Relief, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Stari Grad Municipality. It was funded by Islamic Relief, Malaysia.
5,000 seeds of fir, ash, acer and acacia trees will be planted on a 12,000 sqm. of land in Ablakovina. The original trees were cut down during the seize of Sarajevo as source of fuel for the cold winter.
