A five-member delegation from the Zakat Collection Centre of the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council of Malaysia visited the Embassy of Malaysia in Sarajevo on 6 October 2011. The delegation headed by Y.Bhg. Dato’ Haji Mustafa Abdul Rahman, Chairman of Zakat Collection Centre was received by Mr. Mohd Hussain Bakar, Charge d’Affaires a.i. Also present to receive the visiting delegation were Mr. Onn Mohamed, Second Secretary (Administration) and Personal Assistant Puan Asmah Harun.
The delegation was on a working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 3 – 7 October 2011 at the invitation of the Zakat Office of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The delegation members, which included Y.Bhg. Dato’ Haji Wan Zahidi Wan Teh, Mufti of Federal Territory, held a briefing session on 4 October 2011 to officials of the Zakat Office of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the management of zakat collection and distribution in Malaysia and the role and functions of the Collection Centre.
As part of their visit programme, the delegation also visited the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Sarajevo and several other institutions in Sarajevo.
