On 19 December 2017, the ASEAN Ambassadors in Brasilia led by His Excellency Mr. Surasak Suparat, Ambassador of Thailand as the Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Brasilia had a meeting with His Excellency Ambassador Marcos Galvão, Secretary-General of Foreign Affairs of Brazil at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ASEAN Ambassadors had a discussion on ASEAN and Mercosur relation and applauded Brazil for displaying more importance to ASEAN countries. ASEAN Ambassadors also expressed to further promote bilateral relations of each ASEAN countries with Brazil and also relations between ASEAN and Mercosur particularly on economic cooperation.
