Ambassador Sudha Devi hosted the Heads of Mission Luncheon at Rumah Malaysia on 5 October 2010. The monthly Luncheon is held on a rotational basis among the 17 resident Heads of Mission of countries in the Asia-Oceania Group in Brasilia.
Ambassador Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis, the newly appointed Sub-Secretary General of Political Affairs II (SGAP II) of Itamaraty (Brazilian Ministry of External Relations) was the Guest of Honour. Also present were the respective heads of Department under SGAP II.
Ambassador Reis’s remarks centered on Brazil’s foreign policy outlook towards the region, its interest and focus on enhancing and strengthening relations on a bilateral as well as multilateral basis. This was followed by a lively discussion and an exchange of views on various issues of interest between the Ambassadors and officers of Itamaraty.
