To commemorate the 56th Anniversary of Independence of Malaysia, the Embassy of Malaysia in Brasilia held a Reception on 10 September at Rumah Malaysia. It was attended by more than 300 guests from the Brazilian Government officials, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, representatives of international organisations, private sector, media, friends of Malaysia and the Malaysian community.
The Symphonic Band of the Fire Brigade of the Federal District (CBMDF) performed the National Anthems of Brazil and Malaysia. In her welcome remarks, H.E. Dato` Sudha Devi touched on the Malaysian economy and highlighted Visit Malaysia Year 2014. She also acknowledged the good relations between Malaysia and Brazil.
Among the delicious Malaysian dishes served were beef rending, fried been hoon, popiah, kuih cara, muruku and karipap prepared by PERWAKILAN.
