APPLICATION FOR VISA TO MALAYSIA

Citizens of Brazil who are traveling to Malaysia on their national passport do not require visa to enter Malaysia for a stay not exceeding 90 days either for social or business visit. Those who wish to enter Malaysia for other purposes or for a stay longer than 90 days are required to obtain visa prior to their departure to Malaysia.

Citizens of Guyana and Suriname who are traveling to Malaysia on their national passport do not require visa to enter Malaysia for a stay not exceeding 30 days either for social or business visit. Those who wish to enter Malaysia for other purposes or for a stay longer than 30 days are required to obtain visa prior to their departure to Malaysia.

Applications for visa for Malaysia can be made at Consular Section of the Embassy between 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on any working days. Requirements for visa are as follows:

A visa application form IM.47 (obtainable from the Embassy, official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia (http://www.kln.gov.my) or (https://www.imi.gov.my/portal2017/images/borang/Visa/Borang%20Permohonan%20Visa.pdf);
A valid passport (passport validity of at least six (6) months prior to departure) (original and photocopy);
A recent coloured photograph (35mm x 50mm);
A copy of yellow fever vaccination certificate;
*A confirmed round-trip ticket or a confirmed ticket to a third country;
*Financial proof;
Invitation letter from a sponsor in Malaysia or Visa Approval Letter (VAL) issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia; and,
Visa fee of RM20.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

(*Not applicable to those who are in possession of VAL issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia).

Foreign nationals from countries which require visa for Malaysia may also obtain their visa from the Embassy if they are having a valid residence, work or study visa/permit in Brazil, Guyana or Suriname.

Applicants from Guyana or Suriname who could not submit their applications in person due to distance may submit their applications by using a prepaid DHL courier service. Visa fee can be wire transferred to the Embassy’s bank account. You may contact the Embassy for the account details.

APPLICATION FOR EMERGENCY CERTIFICATE

Malaysians who lost their passports in Brazil, Guyana or Suriname are required to immediately report the loss of their passports to nearest local police station. The Embassy, in this case, may issue an Emergency Certificate to facilitate their return to Malaysia. Requirements for the Emergency Certificate are as follows:

An application form (obtainable from the Embassy or from the following link:

A questionnaire on the loss of the passport from (will be provided by the Embassy);
Three (3) recent coloured photographs (35mm x 50mm);
Malaysia identity card (original and photocopy);
Birth certificate (if any), (original and photocopy);
Copy of the police report; and
Emergency Certificate fee of RM50.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

Malaysians residing in Guyana and Suriname may submit their applications using a prepaid DHL courier service. Emergency Certificate fee can be wire transferred to the Embassy’s bank account. You may contact the Embassy for the account details.

Note: Since Emergency Certificate is not a Passport, it is not recognized by the Brazilian authorities and the holder will be refused re-entry into Brazil.

APPLICATIONS FOR A CERTIFICATE OF GOOD CONDUCT

Malaysian citizens, Brazilian, Guyanese or Surinamese nationals who wish to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct (CGC) from the Government of Malaysia may file their applications online using the link which has been made available at the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, www.kln.gov.my and the Guideline on CGC at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my/templates/manual/PENGGUNA/GUIDELINES.pdf.

Successful applicants who wish to collect their certificates from the Embassy are kindly requested to contact the Consular Section of the Embassy between 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on any working days. Requirements for the Certificate of Good Conduct are as follows:

Full name;
Passport number; and,
Certificate of Good Conduct reference number.

Applicants will be contacted by the Embassy once their certificates are ready for collection. Certificate of Good Conduct fee of RM20.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

APPLICATION FOR RENOUNCE OF MALAYSIAN CITIZENSHIP

The Government of Malaysia does not recognise dual citizenship. Malaysian citizens who have acquired citizenship of any other country may file an application to renounce their Malaysian citizenship at the Consular Section of the Embassy between 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on any working days. Requirements for renounce of Malaysian citizen are as follows:

An application form (obtainable from the Embassy);
Three (3) recent coloured photographs (35mm x 50mm), (original and photocopy);
Malaysian passport (original and photocopy);
Malaysian identity card (original and photocopy);
Birth certificate (original and photocopy);
Proof of acquiring the Brazilian, Guyanese or Surinamese citizenship with English translation; and,
A fee of RM10.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

CERTIFICATION OF MALAYSIAN DOCUMENTS

Application can either be made in person at the Consular Section of the Embassy between 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on any working days or by mail. Requirements for the certification of Malaysian documents are as follows:

Documents (original and photocopy); and
- A fee of RM10.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

Applicant must provide self-addressed stamped envelope.

ATTESTATION AND AUTHENTICATION OF DOCUMENTS

Application can either be made in person at the Consular Section of the Embassy between 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on any working days or by mail. Requirements for the attestation and authentication of documents are as follows:

Documents (original and photocopy);
Passport/Identification card (original and photocopy);
- A fee of RM20.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

Applicant must provide self-addressed stamped envelope.

TRANSLATION SERVICES

The Embassy does not offer any translation services. However, the Embassy, at it’s discretion, may provide an unofficial translation for the official documents issued by the Government of Malaysia upon request by the applicants. The translation services provided by the Embassy are only confined to the following:

Translation of Malaysian identity card;
Translation of Malaysian national driving licence;
Translation of Malaysian birth certificate; and,
Translation of Malaysian marriage certificate.

Each translation will subject to a fee of RM20.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar.

NOTARY SERVICES

Powers are conferred upon Diplomatic and Consular Officers of the Embassy to administer oaths or affirmation, take any affidavit or perform any notarial act which any notary public can do within Malaysia.

Applications for any notary services must be made in person at Consular Section of the Embassy between 9.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. on any working days. Requirements for the notary services are as follows:

Original and photocopy of the documents that needs to be administered/attested;
Malaysian identity card (applicable to Malaysian citizens only);
Passport (original and photocopy); and
A fee of RM20.00* payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar per attestation.

*Note: All Fees are payable in equivalent Brazilian Reais or US Dollar and subject to the current exchange rate.
