On 25 November 2025, the High Commission of Malaysia hosted an Appreciation Luncheon on the Culmination of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025 at its Chancery.
The luncheon was organised as a gesture of gratitude and appreciation to all key stakeholders, namely the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, diplomatic corps, corporate partners, academic institutions, members of the media and Malaysian associations in Brunei Darussalam, for the strong support extended to the High Commission of Malaysia in the organisation of its events throughout the year 2025.
The event brought together a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, including cabinet ministers, members of the Legislative Council, heads of diplomatic mission, senior government officials, as well as corporate and academic leaders. Guests were treated to an exquisite array of Malaysian traditional cuisines and entertained by live band performances.
In the welcoming remarks, High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan conveyed Malaysia’s heartfelt appreciation for the steadfast support extended by ASEAN Member States, Dialogue Partners, sectoral bodies, and supporting institutions in contributing to the success of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship 2025.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini also expressed hope that the remarkable journey of ASEAN throughout the year 2025 will be carried forward as a testament to the outstanding future achievements that ASEAN can accomplish together in the years ahead.
