On 8 August 2025, High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan attended the ASEAN Day 2025 celebration, held at the International Convention Centre in Bandar Seri Begawan.
The annual event, hosted by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brunei Darussalam was also attended by Heads of Diplomatic Mission of ASEAN Member States; Dialogue Partners; Sectoral Partners; and Development Partners.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini highlighted that the 58th ASEAN Day celebration not only demonstrates ASEAN’s shared commitment towards regional cooperation, solidarity and peace, but it also serves as a point of reflection on the collective progress of ASEAN since the signing of Bangkok Declaration in 1967.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini also took the opportunity to reaffirm Malaysia’s commitment as the Chair of ASEAN to bring the regional bloc closer to the people and steer the region towards a more inclusive and sustainable future.
