The BECTON 2023 organised by Brunei BIMP-EAGA Business Council (Brunei BEBC) was held from 25 until 29 October 2023 at Bridex International Convention Centre, Jerudong. The opening of BETCON 2023 with the theme ‘Connecting Businesses’ was officiated by the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister of Finance and Economy, Brunei, YB Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah. Over 20 Malaysian businesses from Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan participated in BETCON 2023.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah attended the main events of BETCON 2023 which include gala dinner, launching ceremony, Business to Business agreement signings, as well as two roundtable discussions. H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza who was invited as a panellist for one of the round table discussions highlighted that the trade convention is an apt avenue for businesses in the East ASEAN region to build network and explore collaborative opportunities. The Honourable Dato Hajjah Hanifah Hajar Taib, Deputy Minister of Economy, Malaysia also attended the opening ceremony of BETCON on 26 October at Bridex International Convention Centre.
