Brunei Joins Religious Gathering In M'sia

Bandar Seri Begawan - Three religious Islamic figures from Brunei Darussalam led by Deputy State Mufti Pehin Dato Paduka Hj Awang Suhaili bin Hj Mohiddin attended a four-day talk on traditional Islamic education in Selangor.
Some 300 Islamic scholars took part in the April 12 - 15 gathering called "Majlis Ijtima' Ulama Pondok Senusantara Ke 2" at Kompleks Yayasan Al-Jenderami in Sepang. Scholars from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia. Syria, Egypt, Canada and Iraq also attended.
The event, which was themed "Restoring The Prophecy Heritage In The Region", was launched by Malaysia's Foreign Minister Dato? Seri Syed Hamid bin Syed Jaafar Albar. It was held in conjunction with Maulud Nabi.
Aside from presentations of working papers, there was also a talk on "Islamic Scholars Maintaining the Legacy Of Prophets" by Perak's State Multi, Dato' Seri Harussani Zakaria.
