On 13 August 2025, High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan received a courtesy call by the led by its Chair YB Dato’ Indera Mohd Shahar, together with YB Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen; and YB Senator Roderick at the former’s office.
During the meeting, HE Datuk Mohd Aini and the young parliamentarians engaged in a frank exchange of thoughts and views on the overview of Malaysia – Brunei bilateral relations that have spanned over four decades.
Both sides also delve into how best young leaders, particularly from the legislative arm from both countries could work together in devising a forward-looking regional policy under the ambit of AIPA, that could bring tangible benefit to the people in the region.
As Malaysia sits as the current Chair of ASEAN for 2025, HE Datuk Mohd Aini underscored the importance of Young Parliamentarians of AIPA Malaysia in navigating not only the future of Malaysia, but also the broader ASEAN region amid the increasingly complex geopolitical and economic landscapes.
