On 28 May 2025, High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan received a courtesy call from the Chief Executive of Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM), Ts. Dr Captain Manivannan Subramaniam at the High Commissioner’s office.
The Chief Executive of ALAM apprised HE Datuk Mohd Aini of ALAM’s outreach activities in Brunei, particularly through its strategic local partner Darussalam Pilotage Services (DPS), in order to promote ALAM’s maritime qualifications, trainings and courses to aspiring maritime professionals in the sultanate.
Acknowledging the historical strength of ALAM in the maritime sector, HE Datuk Mohd Aini encouraged ALAM to pursue greater collaboration in maritime training and education with relevant institutions in Brunei that would empower people-to-people connections between both countries.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini further expressed the High Commission of Malaysia’s support towards ALAM’s venture in Brunei, and underscored the role of ALAM in shaping the next generation of global maritime leaders.
