The discussion centred on potential cooperation in the higher education sector, particularly under the scope of Islamic studies between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

As both countries share a common Islamic heritage, HE Datuk Mohd Aini encouraged University of Malaya to further explore opportunities for collaboration in the facet of Islamic studies with Bruneian institutions, especially through student exchange programmes, joint academic research, and co-publications.

HE Datuk Mohd Aini further emphasised that such collaboration in Islamic studies would generate far-reaching benefits that not only confined to bilateral ties between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, but would also contribute meaningfully towards the advancement and prosperity of the wider Muslim Ummah across the world.
