On 23 July 2025, the High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan paid a courtesy call on the Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II of Brunei YB Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah at the latter’s office.
During the call, HE Datuk Mohd Aini and YB Dato Seri Setia Dr Amin discussed at great lengths the current geoeconomic landscape and how best both Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam could align their respective fiscal and monetary policies towards overcoming the present international trade challenges.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini also took the opportunity to highlight the upcoming 21st edition of Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) scheduled to be held on 17- 20 September 2025 in Kuala Lumpur. The High Commissioner further underscored that MIHAS offers a premier platform to present a wide array of Halal products and services to a global audience, and invited Brunei to participate at the international showcase.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini reiterated the commitment of the High Commission of Malaysia to work closely with Ministry of Finance and Economy in promoting trade and economic activities between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
