On 6 November 2025, High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Education YB Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah at the latter’s office.
During the call, both sides exchanged views on ways to further strengthen education cooperation between the two countries. The discussion revolved on active collaboration between educational institutions; Bruneian student placement in Malaysia; renewal of MoU on Cooperation in the Field of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education; and revival of Joint Working Group between the Education Ministries of Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
On the multilateral front, HE Datuk Mohd Aini underscored the importance of multilateralism as a critical factor in advancing global peace, security and prosperity, and further expressed appreciation for Brunei’s support for Malaysia’s candidature to the UNESCO Executive Board.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini reaffirmed the commitment of the High Commission of Malaysia to continue working closely with the Ministry of Education in fostering education ties between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.
