COURTESY VISITS ON CHIEF MINISTER
Kuching: Chief Minister Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received a courtesy visit by the newly-appointed High Commissioner of Malaysia to Negara Brunei Darusssalam, His Excellency Dato' Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari at Wisma Bapa Malaysia in Petra Jaya near here.
Prior to his current appointment, Dato' ku Jaafar was the Ambassador of Malaysia to Qatar.
Later, the Chief Minister also received a farewell visit by the Director of Audit Department, Sarawak Branch, Puan Ong Swee Leng at the same venue.
Puan Ong, who hails from Kuala Lumpur, has been serving in the state since June 2006. She will be transferred back to Putrajaya next month.
