The auspicious Forum Perdana Ehwal Islam between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam was held yesterday (17 Nov 2009) at the Plenary Hall of the International Convention Centre, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Present as the guests of honour at the event were YB Senator Mej. Gen. (R) Dato Jamil Khir bin Haji Baharom, Minister at the Prime Minister's Department and YB Pehin Dato Seri Utama Dr. Ustaz Haji Mohd Zain bin Serudin, Minister of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darusalam.

Among the forum’s objectives were to act as a place of learning academically and to increase the cooperation between the two countries in the field of religious activities and programmes.

The forum was held in a recording form and had two sessions, the first which was entitled “Negara Zikir” chaired by representative from the Islamic Da’awah Centre of Brunei. Members of the panel for this session include two from Brunei and one from Malaysia, which was Ustaz Mohd Farid Ravi.
