Hari Raya moment for inmates
As the last day of the Hari Raya Open Visit comes to a close at the Prisons Department, the Malaysian inmates were not forgotten as yesterday the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei came calling at the Jerudong Prison Institution.
| H.E Dato' Ku Jaafar bin Ku Shaari, the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei along with several embassy officials paid a visit to the male and female Malaysian inmates so that they will not be left out of this joyous season. For the 45-minute visit to the Female Prison Facility and the Male Prison Proper Compound, the delegation brought with them a few Malaysian delicacies to be savoured with the inmates.  Present to accompany the ambassador during the Raya visit were Deputy Director of Prisons, Hj Abdul Manan bin Hj Abdul Rahman and several senior officers of the Jerudong Prison Department. Visits like these are a way for embassies to show their care and support towards those who are incarcerated and to let them know that they are not forgotten especially during celebrations like Hari Raya.Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin |
