On 25 April 2025, the High Commission of Malaysia hosted a visit by the Department of Polytechnic and Community College (PolyCC) Sabah comprising of 20 students and 8 lecturers.
During the visit, the delegation had an engaging discussion with the High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan wherein both sides explore potential joint collaboration with a view to enhance the marketability of Malaysian polytechnic and community college’s graduates in Brunei Darussalam.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini urged PolyCC Sabah to double down efforts in promoting collaboration in Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) with higher education institutions in Brunei to address skills gaps, with the objective to bridge the gap between industry needs and the skills possessed by the workforce in both countries.
In the evening, the delegates from PolyCC participated in a friendly futsal match against the Malaysian High Commission’s team led by HE Datuk Mohd Aini. The futsal match is a part of the High Commission of Malaysia’s proactive sports diplomacy to engage with various stakeholders in an informal and friendly setting.
