On 15 January 2026, the High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, officially unveiled the all-new Proton X50 as the Guest of Honour at a launch event held at the Proton Brunei Showroom in Bandar Seri Begawan.
Marking its entry into the Brunei market, the Malaysian-made SUV features a sharper exterior design, a more refined cabin and infotainment system, as well as improved driving comfort powered by the new i-GT 1.5TD engine. These enhancements are aimed at delivering a modern, intelligent, and dynamic driving experience for Bruneian customers.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan highlighted the strong public anticipation in Brunei surrounding the launch of the all-new Proton X50, and reaffirmed the High Commission of Malaysia’s full support in further strengthening the presence and profile of the Malaysian automotive brand in the sultanate.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia also expressed confidence that the newly enhanced dynamic SUV would further elevate Proton’s standing in Brunei Darussalam.
