On 22 January 2024, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah received a courtesy call from the delegation of Sabah Shell Petroleum Company (SSPC) led by its General Manager Mr Wong Kim Mun. The GM of SSPC briefed the Malaysian High Commissioner on the implementation of Gumusut Kakap Geronggong Jagus East (GKGJE) Phase 4 Development Project.
Both sides also exchanged views on existing cooperation in the oil and gas sector between Malaysia and Brunei under the ambit of the Unitisation Agreement signed in April 2021. H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza expressed hope for the successful commissioning of the GKGJE Phase 4 which would lead to further progress in both countries’ commercial arrangement, including monetisation discussions for viable development of the resources in the commercial arrangement areas.
