On 1 October 2023, the High Commission of Malaysia (HCM) in Bandar Seri Begawan held the Merdeka Day Luncheon with Malaysians residing in Belait district at Panaga Club Kuala Belait. The luncheon was held in conjunction with the 66th National Day and 60th Malaysia Day celebrations this year.
Over 150 Malaysians turned up for the event which serves as an avenue for the HCM to renew acquaintances with Malaysian diaspora in Brunei Darussalam. The event was also joined by the team from TalentCorp Malaysia that is actively promoting its new initiative, the MyHeart portal. Guests were treated to an array of local Malaysian cuisines.
H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam in his welcoming remarks called upon the Malaysian diaspora in Brunei to strengthen the spirit of unity by emphasising mutual understanding and tolerance between the different races.
