On 27 July 2025, the Malaysian High Commission organised the MHC Invitational Futsal Tournament at its Chancery with the objective of fostering closer ties with Brunei’s government agencies.
The tournament featured five teams, namely the High Commission of Malaysia, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Department of Immigration and National Registration, and Limbang Immigration Office. The team from MCYS emerged as champion, followed by Limbang Immigration Office in second place, while the High Commission of Malaysia secured the third place.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia, HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, expressed appreciation to all agencies involved for honouring the invitation and participating in the tournament.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini further underscored that the sporting event is a part of the High Commission of Malaysia’s proactive sports diplomacy efforts, aimed at strengthening friendship among officials from Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam, through shared passion for sports.
