Tourism Malaysia in Brunei on 5 January 2022 hosted a networking hi-tea with tourism industry players. The event was held at the Rizqun International Hotel and attended by approximately 60 travel agents, airline representatives, corporate companies, members of the media and social media influencers in the country.
As the guest of honour, His Excellency Dato' Raja Reza delivered a speech in which he expressed utmost appreciation to the tourism industry players in Brunei for the close collaboration and strong partnership with Tourism Malaysia. His Excellency Dato' Raja Reza also highlighted Malaysia's National Tourism Policy 2020-2030 and the incentives, as well as initiatives introduced by the goverment to revive the tourism industry post-pandemic, including the launching of Langkawi International Travel Bubble. With the commencement of initial discussion on the proposed Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) between Malaysia and Brunei, His Excellency Dato' Raja Reza called for closer cooperation between Tourism Malaysia and the tourism industry players in building a more resilient tourism industry.
His Excellency Dato' Raja Reza and the Director of Tourism Malaysia later responded to several questions raised by the members of media pertaining to the tourism industry in Malaysia before the event proceeded with the presentation of prizes to the winners of the Miss Sophia Virtual Hunt 2021 from Brunei.
