New Malaysian Envoy Hosts Reception

Bandar Seri Begawan - The new High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, Dato' Ku Jaafar bin Ku Shaari yesterday afternoon hosted a reception at the Malaysian High  Commission in Jalan Kebangsaan.

The reception was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials and Malaysian community leaders.

In his speech, Dato? Ku Jaafar said he is looking forward to beginning his official duties and engagements and also looking forward to meeting with fellow Malaysians in the Sultanate as well as hold gatherings to further enhance closer relationship with fellow diplomatic corps.

Dato' Ku Jaafar, 50, is married to Datin Zakiah binti Dato' Haji Alias and is blessed with three children.

Prior to his posting to Brunei Darussalam, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia to the State of Qatar.

Earlier, Dato' Ku Jaafar presented his credentials to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at the Istana Nurul Iman.

In the morning, the new envoy was received in audience by HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah at Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan.
