Malaysian Defence Minister YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin undertook his inaugural official visit to Brunei Darussalam from 8 to 9 July 2024.
In the course of the visit, the Minister had an audience with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam at Istana Nurul Iman. The Minister also met with YB Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, and was hosted to a dinner by the latter.
The visit underscores Malaysia’s strong commitment to further solidify its longstanding defence ties with Brunei bilaterally, regionally as well as at the international stage.
