On 28 October 2025, the High Commissioner of Malaysia HE Datuk Mohd Aini Atan attended the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the Rimbunan Kaseh Sundar Project between LCDA Agribusiness and Sahamada Corporation, held at the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office in Brunei Darussalam (STATOB).
The signing of the MoA was witnessed by the Deputy Premier of Sarawak YB Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, and the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism of Brunei YB Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf.
The commencement of the Rimbunan Kaseh Sundar Project in Lawas is projected to serve as a key catalyst for rural development, by way of creating new economic opportunities for the local community, while enhancing the competitiveness of Sarawak’s agricultural sector.
HE Datuk Mohd Aini reaffirmed the Malaysian High Commission’s continued support for initiatives and projects aimed at strengthening economic linkages between Malaysia, particularly Sarawak, and Brunei Darussalam, with the objective of promoting shared prosperity and deeper economic integration across the Borneo region.
