On 21 August 2023, the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah received a visit by the delegation from the Sabah State Committee of Unduk Ngadau Kaamatan (UNK), lead by its Chairperson Mrs Joanna Datuk Kitingan and the winner of UNK 2023, Ms Carol Abbey Gail Grimaldi. Unduk Ngadau is a beauty pageant and one of the most recognisable cultural events in Sabah.
During the discussion, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza proposed for the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) to promote the culture of Sabah in Brunei as part of cultural diplomacy. H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza also reiterated the High Commission’s readiness to facilitate efforts to promote Sabah’s diverse cultural heritage and welcomed potential collaboration with KDCA in this regard.
