Honourable Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, undertook a working visit to Brunei from 21 to 22 March 2023. Accompanying him were the Deputy Minister of Transport Malaysia, Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development of Sarawak, Member of Parliament for Lawas, State Assemblyman of Batu Danau, Limbang, State Secretary of Sarawak, as well as other top state government officials from the relevant agencies.
During the two-day visit, Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and the Sarawak delegation had a bilateral meeting with Honourable Dato Seri Setia Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Minister of Foreign Affairs II of Brunei. The meeting was held at the International Convention Centre (ICC). Senior officials from the relevant Brunei government agencies also attended the meeting.
Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan later witnessed the signing of the Tenancy Agreement between Sarawak Trade and Tourism Sdn Bhd and Pavo Point Management. The Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office (STATO) in Brunei is expected to commence its operations this year. It will serve as a one-stop centre for investment and business as well as tourism players in Brunei to meet and liaise with their Sarawakian counterparts regularly.
