This evening, Her Excellency Dr Shazelina, together with all ASEAN Heads of Mission in Ottawa, hosted the 58th ASEAN Day Reception at the Embassy of Indonesia.
The event was honoured by the presence of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Trade and to the Secretary of State (International Development), the Honourable Yasir Naqvi, as well as the Co-Chairs of the Canada–ASEAN Interparliamentary Friendship Group, the Honourable Clément Gignac and the Honourable Matt Jeneroux.
Held under the theme “Toward an Inclusive and Sustainable ASEAN Future”, the reception celebrated ASEAN’s shared values and strengthened ASEAN–Canada relations.
Guests enjoyed a vibrant spread of flavourful dishes served with rice, a true reflection of ASEAN’s dining culture, and ended the evening with delightful desserts from each mission.
