On 3 March 2016, the High Commission hosted three students delegation participating in the 13th Canadian International Model United Nations (CANIMUN 2016) for an Embassy Briefing on Malaysia's foreign policy. In CANIMUN, these students acted as representatives of Malaysia at the UN while advocating Malaysia's positions on a wide range of topics such as climate change, disarmament and the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
Two of them were given awards by the organizer for their excellent performance at CANIMUN. Salomon Benrimoh won the Outstanding Delegate Award, while Alec Sader won award for Best Position Paper.
