Her Excellency Dato' Hayati Ismail, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Canada hosted the 54th National Day reception at Rumah Malaysia on Tuesday, 20 September 2011. Some 280 guest made up diplomats, Canadian Government officials, parliamentarians, businesspersons, non-government organisations and Malaysians attended the event. A live roti canai and sate booth set up in the garden were the main attractions. Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Canada, Deepak Obhrai also attended the reception.
